On Nov. 20th, Mr. Yin Li, Vice Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC, Governor of Sichuan Provincial People's Government, met with Mckinnon, New Zealand Ambassador to China and his delegation. They have witnessed the signing of the memorandum of understanding between New Zealand Consulate General in Chengdu, the New Zealand Trade Development Council and Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce on New Zealand-Sichuan trade during the round table investment meeting.

Mr. Yin Li welcomed their visit to Sichuan and introduced the economic and social development of our province. He said that Sichuan is implementing the spirit of the 19th National Congress of CPC and speeding up the construction of a beautiful, prosperous and harmonious Sichuan. We are willing to, with the memorandum as an opportunity, comprehensively strengthen pragmatic cooperation with New Zealand, as well as our exchanges and mutual learning in investment and trade, cultural tourism, agriculture, high technology, and actively promote international cooperation of "the Belt and Road Initiative" to better benefit people through win-win development.

Mckinnon said Sichuan plays an important role in the development of China, so New Zealand attaches great importance to the all-round exchanges and cooperation with Sichuan. It is believed that the signing of this memorandum of understanding will effectively promote the deeper exchanges and cooperation between enterprises and people of the two sides in a wider range, consolidating and expanding achievements for common development.
