On Nov. 17th, China (Sichuan) Pilot Free Trade Zone’s first overseas promotion meeting of Chengdu was held in Singapore, where the region under direct administration of Tianfu New Area, Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone (CDHT), Shuangliu District and the Railway Port Zone of Qingbaijiang District respectively introduced the opening policies, reform measures and latest developments of the free trade zone to nearly 200 Singapore enterprises.

　　Factors of Chengdu like panda dolls and map of Chengdu-Euro Express Railway were found in the meeting. To highlight its internationalization level, CDHT introduced itself first by its foreign employee. “Hello! I’m Cohn. I've been living in Chengdu for almost 8 years.” After a brief self-introduction in Chinese, Alex Cohn, the first foreign employee of CDHT from Connecticut, USA and graduating from Yale University, introduced this zone in English; the Railway Port Zone of Qingbaijiang District also introduced itself in English, both displaying the international image of Chengdu.

　　"The free trade zone has unique advantages: more open access for industries, more international environment for business with the rule of law and convenient facilities and a comprehensive platform to deepen bilateral cooperation." In the meeting, a series of favorable policies have attracted many guests' attention. "I've lived in Chengdu, witnessing its fast development. Then we're going to observe and study it with our partners." Mr. Wu Xingrong, Director of Singapore Chenen Investment Co., Ltd expressed his hope to cooperate with Chengdu in medical care and pension industry in the future.

　　Officials of Chengdu Commerce Commission said that in the first 9 months of this year, the total import and export volume of Chengdu and Singapore was 3.18 billion yuan, up by 27.2%. As of now, there are 431 Singapore companies in Chengdu with a total investment of 5.702 billion US dollars; 25 Chengdu enterprises including Haite Group have invested in Singapore.
