The Fifth Sichuan Agricultural Exposition (SAE) will be held in Chengdu from Nov. 17th to Nov.20th hosted by Sichuan Provincial People's Government, this exposition is organized by Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China’s Rural Work Committee, Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs, Agricultural Department of Sichuan Province, Forestry Department of Sichuan Province, Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce and Sichuan Provincial Investment Promotion Bureau; with the theme of “Boosting the structural reform of supply side in agriculture by comprehensive opening-up and cooperation”, the theme country is Malaysia, theme province Heilongjiang, and theme city Meishan; the opening ceremony and exhibition site are at the International Exhibition Center of Western China International Expo City in Tianfu New Area.
With the planning exhibition area of 60,000 square meters, there are 5 exhibition pavilions of new industrial and business formats, special agricultural products of high quality, agricultural cooperation, etc. More than 1,500 enterprises from 30 countries and regions, 14 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and 21 cities (prefectures) in Sichuan Province will participate in the exposition, with 90% of special booths areas. Over 100 famous enterprises, such as China Telecom, TongweiCo., Ltd, Chongqing Fuling Mustard Tuber Group, Heilongjiang Beidahuang Agriculture Co., Ltd, Zhuyeqing Tea Co., Ltd, Sichuan Tea Group, and China Tobacco Sichuan Industrial Co., Ltd, are all exhibitors.
The exposition this year is further opening up. 30 foreign countries and regions including Malaysia, Italy and Germany will participate. Malaysia, as the theme country, will demonstrate its cubilose, durians, coffee, honey, oil and other high-quality products by the its delegation led by Abu Baca, Vice Minister of Malaysia Science and Technology Innovation Department. It will also hold the opening ceremony of Malaysia Pavilion in this exposition and perform its traditional martial arts. In addition, 14 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) including Heilongjiang, Tibet and Shandong will join the exhibition by sending their groups. Among them, 5 provinces (autonomous regions) including Tibet, Guizhou, Ningxia, Shaanxi and Shanxi participate for the first time.
To highlight the specialization level, in addition to the traditional comprehensive exhibition of development achievement of cities (prefectures) in Sichuan and famous special local product at home and abroad, the exposition this year is to set 3 professional exhibition areas, namely Sichuan forestry ecological tourism exhibition, food safety exhibition and exhibition of business achievements made by people returning their homes.
Based on exhibition effectiveness, this agricultural exhibition also adheres to both exhibitions and activities.
Apart from the opening ceremony of the Fifth Sichuan Agricultural Cooperation and Development Conference & the Fifth Sichuan Agricultural Exposition as well as the second China’s Beautiful Countryside Forum & the Fifth Village Political Forum, another 10 special activities including the First China International Conference on Safe Food Suppliers, Purchasing Communication Meeting, Promotion Conference of Green Roads in Chengdu and wine tasting will be held. In order to enhance the interaction between customers and exhibitors for their better experience, unique folk cultural performances, lottery activities, tea art performances and other activities will also be held in the exhibition site.
Sichuan Agricultural Exposition, approved by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council in 2014, one of the three large exhibitions (Western China International Fair, China (Miangyang) International Hi-tech Expo, Sichuan Agricultural Exposition) hosted by Sichuan Provincial People's Government, has been successfully held for four sessions. It is the only integrated platform to display the fruits of international exchange and cooperation of "countryside, farmers and agriculture" in Sichuan Province.
