On October 26th, Western China—Taiwan Economic & Trade Conference 2017 was held in Chengdu themed with “Internet + Healthy Pension Industry”. Mr. Chen Deming, President of Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits and Mr. Zhu Hexin, Vice Governor of Sichuan Provincial People's Government attended the conference and delivered speeches. As the first large-scale economic and trade activities with Taiwan after the 19th National Congress of CPC, this conference has attracted widespread attention.

　　Exchanges and dialogues concerning healthy pension industry, the Internet and Internet of things went around 300 guests in the conference, including celebrities from business field in Taiwan, experts and scholars of Internet information and healthy endowment industry, major business associations as well as officials of Taiwan funded enterprises. This is to build an exchanges and cooperation platform for pension industry between Taiwan and western areas of China’s mainland including Sichuan, and to promote the transformation and upgrading of Taiwan funded enterprises and its movement to the west.

　　Since 2013, the conference has been held for 5 consecutive years. As of September this year, the registered Taiwan funded enterprises in our province reached 1,945, with total investment of 18.472 billion dollars and over 16 billion dollars from Taiwan utilized. 217 enterprises with more than 10 million dollars investment from Taiwan have been founded. Taiwanese investment in Sichuan has formed four dominant clusters: electronic information, food and beverage, building materials, department stores and commerce. Modern service industry and modern agricultural investment are developing rapidly.

　　Before the conference, Mr. Chen Deming met with Mr. Yin Qiming, senior adviser of Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, professor of Chung Hua University and other guests from Taiwan. They communicated about the expansion of economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation across the Taiwan straits for mutual benefit. Mr. Zhu Hexin attended the meeting.
