Our reporter learned from the press conference that by September 30th, the vehicle population in Sichuan Province has exceeded 15 million, ranking 7th in China, with an increase of about 1.28 million compared with the same period last year. The vehicle population maintains a rapid growth with concentrated distribution. Chengdu, Mianyang and Nanchong are the top 3 cities with about 5 million, 0.87 million and 0.8 million vehicles respectively. Up to September 30th, motor vehicle drivers was more than 21 million, ranking 5th in the country, with an increase of about 1.82 million over the same period last year. More than 17 million people has got their driver licenses, an increase of about 1.97 million year on year. Chengdu, Nanchong, Mianyang, Deyang and Yibin are the top 5 in their drivers’ amount. 72% of drivers concentrate in the age span of 26 to 50.
For hot issues of " License Plate of New Energy Vehicles " and " New Regulations of Driving Test", officials of the Vehicle Administration Office, Traffic Police Headquarters of Sichuan Provincial Public Security Department said that Chengdu has been listed as one of the 12 cities of the second round of pilot of new energy license plates by Ministry of Public Security of PRC. Now, Chengdu has completed its pilot preparations and will act upon the unified arrangements from the Ministry of Public Security. Since the implementation of new regulations of driving test in October 1st, data about it is still carded. Traffic police will release relevant information timely.
