World Routes Strategy Forum Held in Chengdu

  As an important activity of the 22nd World Route Development Forum, World Routes Strategy Forum was held in Chengdu on September 25th. Responsible persons from global airports, airlines, well-known consulting firms, air transport associations and so on had a heated discussion on hot topics including global civil aviation development, the economic value of aviation, the security challenges of global civil aviation and so on. “There were only 15 European routes departing from China in 2009. While the number has risen to 235 now covering in 14 cities. Our routes to Europe are from Chengdu, Wuhan, Chongqing and other non-traditional first-tier cities.”At his keynote speech, Richard Evans, Senior Consultant of Global Flight Consulting Firm, shared these data. While participants also launched a lively discussion on topics such as “the challenges of security and capacity”, “Where we could go from Asia”, and “seeking for perfect partnership” and so on.

  On the forum, relevant responsible officials from Civil Aviation Administration of China revealed that China would highlight on strengthening the network of airports and construct 3 world-class airport groups surrounding national strategies such as “One Belt and One Road”, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Joint Development and so on.

  It is expected to increase over 60 new transport airports by 2020 with the total number of about 270. At the same time, China civil aviation will comply with international trend of aviation liberty, resort to more open aviation right policies, continue to expand the aviation rights with American and European countries, and spare no efforts on promoting the aviation transport liberty and convenience of countries and regions along “One Belt and One Road”.

  Vice Governor Yang Hongbo also attended the forum.
