On August 3rd, Mr. Zhu Hexin, Vice Governor of Sichuan Provincial People's Government, in Chengdu met Mr. Manuel Valencia, Ambassador of Spain to China.

　　Vice Governor Zhu Hexin extended sincere welcome to the visit of Ambassador Valencia. He briefly introduced the basic Information of Sichuan and Sichuan’s economic, technical, cultural, tourism, opening and cooperation situation. He mentioned that as a huge province in Western China, Sichuan had occupied an important status in population, coverage area, economic and social development, technical and cultural strength, opening level and so on. Sichuan had always valued the exchanges and cooperation with Spain. Currently there had been better cooperation foundations and more promising future between Spain and Sichuan. He reported that Hangzhou-Chengdu-Mandrid Flight would be opened soon, which would greatly enhance mutual economic cooperation and personnel exchanges. Vice Governor Zhu Hexin hoped to strengthen cooperation in mutual advantageous fields especially in tourism and further dig cooperation potential. He also hoped that Ambassador Valencia to have a better understanding of Sichuan through this visit, introduce Sichuan in Spain, and inject new impetus into mutual cooperation.

　　Ambassador Valencia thanked Vice Governor Zhu Hexin and indicated that he and Embassy of Spain to China valued the cooperation with Sichuan. He had appointed Economic Counselor and Consul General visited and inspected Sichuan respectively in 2016. Spain Visa Center in Chengdu has been established in April, 2016. Spain had important position and influence in Europe and Latin America. Spain has sound and rapid economic development and more closer relationship with China. Spain would be willing to extend more closer cooperation with Sichuan in fields aviation, telecommunications, clean energy, environmental protection technologies, automobile manufacturing, agricultural food, tourism, finance and so on, and hoped that the direct flight from Chengdu to Madrid would be opened soon.

　　Mr. Mu Xinhai, Director of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs, Sichuan Provincial People's Government, Mr. Hao Kangli, Director of Sichuan Tourism Development Commission, and Mr. Li Weimin, Vice Director of Department of Commerce, also attended the meeting.
