On June 27th, Sichuan’s company alliance led by China Western Power Industrial Co., Ltd. signed a general contract of the second phase for expansion project for 370 Million-Watt supercritical efficient clean power plant with Turkey Izmir Energy Electric Company with the total volume of 164 million US dollars. The project would last for 31 months. The project is another European marketing one after China Western Power Company signing a desalination project with Germany counterparts in 2015, marking that the steps of Sichuan’s companies expanding in “One Belt and One Road” European markets are accelerating.
Turkey Izmir Energy Electric Company is established in 2007, a subsidiary to Turkey IDC Group which is a large steel group in Turkey. Currently because Turkey is short of energy, the electricity power in Turkey could not meet the domestic demands. Turkey is accelerating to develop coal, hydropower, solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, and nuclear energy. The second phase for expansion project for 370 Million-Watt supercritical efficient clean power plant between Turkey Izmir Energy Electric Company and Sichuan’s company alliance led by China Western Power Industrial Co., Ltd., when in operation, will provide electricity for Izmir, the third largest city in Turkey.
