On December 16th, Sichuan Carbon Market Opening and China Carbon Market Capacity Building (Chengdu) Center was held in Chengdu. The successful opening of Sichuan carbon market signifies that Sichuan has officially been enlisted into China carbon emission trading list. On that day, there are 10 CCER deals with the total amount of 363,000 tons and funds of about 4 million. The projects mainly involve wind power, solar, water power, gas power and so on.

　　It is learned that Sichuan is the 8th region where carbon emission right have been opened after Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Hubei, Guangdong, and Shenzhen. Meanwhile, Sichuan is the first province which has national record of carbon trading institute. The The successful opening of Sichuan carbon market is of great significance to the construction of ecological civilization and green development. While the unveiling of China Carbon Market Capacity Building (Chengdu) Center serves as an effective supplement for the construction and layout of China carbon market in 2017.

　　It has been learned that China Carbon Market will be initiated officially in 2017. After the market grows gradually mature, the carbon trading scale of Sichuan could amount to 40 billion yuan per year. While the carbon market scale of Chengdu is about 2 billion yuan per year which will increase greatly if Chengdu could cover other provinces in Western China. The investment value for carbon assets will be vigorously grown with the increasing demand and supply, which will promote the efficiency of carbon handling companies and enhance the industrial adjustment and upgrading in Western China region.

　　Reporters learned from the activity that Sichuan Development and Reform Commission and Tibet Development and Reform Commission signed strategic cooperation agreement of carbon market construction. Sichuan United Environmental Exchange signed strategic cooperation agreement with Sichuan Branch of Bank of China, Chengdu Branch of Industrial Bank Co., Ltd, and so on.
