On the afternoon of September 24th, Mr. Wei Hong, vice secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, in Meishan met Mr. Kavin Murphy, chairman of PATA, Mr. Zhu Shanzhong, executive director of United Nations World Tourism Organization, and other important guests attending 2nd Sichuan International Travel Expo in Sichuan.

　　Mr. Wei Hong extended sincere to the attendance of these guests. He mentioned that Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and Sichuan Provincial People’s Government had attached much importance on the function of tourism in promoting the transference and upgrading and determined to enhance tourism as an important pillar industry and to construct Sichuan into a world famous tourism destination. Travel Expo was devoted to creating tourism product and service negotiation and trade platforms, tourism comprehensive exchange and cooperation platforms, and tourism industry display and promotion platforms. He hoped that guests could yield bountiful achievements here, have a better understanding of Sichuan, promote Sichuan more in the future and bring more tourists into Sichuan taking advantages of this expo.

　　Mr. Murphy, Mr. Zhu Shanzhong and other guests indicated that Sichuan was endowed with unique tourism resources, the great efforts and measures of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and Sichuan Provincial People’s Government to support the development of tourism was impressive. They were confident on Sichuan’s development of tourism and would continue supporting Sichuan tourism to be internationally advanced, assist and promote more overseas tourists to travel in Sichuan.

　　Mr. Li Shihong, Vice Director of Chian National Tourism Administration, Mrs. Huang Yanrong, Vice Governor of Sichuan Provincial and Mr. Luo Qiang, Secretary General of Sichuan Provincial People's Government, also attended the meeting.
