Plentiful Cooperation Achievements: Senior Officials from 10 Eastern and Central Europe Countries Visited Sichuan

  Just sending away diplomats from European countries, Sichuan welcomed the visit of 10 senior official delegates from 10 Eastern and Central Europe countries from July 27th to 30th.

  What did these senior officials, the closest people of the presidents, do in Sichuan? What motion would be injected into the cooperation between Sichuan and 10 Eastern and Central Europe countries.

  On July 29th, on the Introduction of Sichuan for Senior Officials of Eastern and Central Europe countries, they asked a series of questions to relevant responsible officials from Sichuan Development and Reform Commission, Office of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Tourism, and so on, and relevant responsible managers from Dongfang Electronic Corporation, Changhong Group and so on.

  Initiating cultural tourism: “What can we do for Sichuan tourists?”
  
  Sichuan and the Czech, which would open Consulate General in Chengdu, initiate honeymoon with Sichuan. Therefore, Mr. Zaoralek, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, asked directly, “I know that many Sichuan people want to travel at abroad. Tell me, please, what do Sichuan people highlight when they travel at abroad?”

  Mr. Yuan Shijun, director of Market Department of Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Tourism, introduced, “We spend much more in tourism than foreigners in us. Besides, our shopping cost is higher than membership fee.” Mr. Zaoralek agreed with him ad said that in the Czech the consumption of Chinese tourists was much higher. Chinese tourists had interest in traveling in the Czech. “Without direct flight, since 2015, there have been 260,000 tourists in the Czech. Beijing-Prague direct flight would be opened in September, 2015. Chengdu-Prague direct flight would also be opened soon.”

  Mr. Yuan Shijun mentioned that Sichuan people usually appreciated natural and humanistic landscapes and then shopped. He suggested that the Czech could establish some advertisements to introduce their tourism resources.

  Adviser to Prime Minister of Macedonia and Chief Adviser to Prime Minister of Montenegro also joined in their discussion concerning close tourism exchange. “How did 72-hour visa free work now?” They asked about relevant tourism policy. “Although there are only 0.6 million people in Montenegro, the number of tourists is 1.3 million in total every year. We could also supply chartered flights with Sichuan.” Chief Adviser to Prime Minister of Montenegro introduced his tourism resources immediately.


  Bountiful trade and economic cooperation: aircraft producing base agreement has been signed
  
  These delegations had a comprehensive inspection on Sichuan’s culture, trade, logistics and so on with their destinations including Jinsha Museum, Dujiangyan Giant Panda Rescue and Disease Control and Prevention Center, Chengdu-Europe Express Rail.

  Dujiangyan Irrigation Project, which was built 2,200 years ago, is still in service now. This project had deeply impressed on Adviser to Prime Minister of Macedonia. “We hope to bring back Chinese modern irrigation system. We have a lot of cooperation opportunities in this aspect.”

  Responsible person from the special project team to Serbian Prime Minister’s Office asked, “There are numerous modern industrial projects along many transportation hubs in Serbia. And Serbia enjoys competitive labor resources. How do Sichuan feel to enlarge exchange and cooperation scale with Serbia?”

  Sichuan was their first destination for these officials in China. But Foreign Affair Consultant to Lithuanian Prime Minister felt that he was quite satisfied to what he had seen and all his objectives had been achieved.

  About the future, all officials were optimistic about the cooperation prospects between China and Eastern and Central Europe countries. Mr. Migas, a Speaker of National Council of the Slovak Republic, suggested, “Sichuan could extend cooperation with Eastern and Central Europe countries in fields such as machinery, energy, agriculture and so on in the future.”
  
  After the meeting, Strategic and Policy Consultant to Bulgarian President asked responsible person from Dongfang Electric Corporation, “Do you have any interest in participating in the construction of power station?”

  While the Czech Republic has taken opportunity to sign an agreement with Sichuan on July 28th to jointly construct a small aircraft production base.
