Consul General in Chengdu Visited Tibetan Region of Sichuan

  On July 28the, the holy mountainside and wild grasslands of Kangding of Ganzi welcomed a batch of special guests, namely representatives of consul generals and officials of foreign consulates in Chengdu. To deepen foreign consuls general to have a better understanding of the economic and social development of Tibetan Region in Sichuan, promote the opening of Tibetan Region, from July 28th to August 1st, Office of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs of Sichuan Provincial People's Government organizes consuls general and official representatives to inspect in Ganzi and Aba.

  These officials include Mr. Raymond Greene, Consul General of the United States in Chengdu, Mr. Gan Teng Kiat, Consul General of the Republic of Singapore in Chengdu, Mr. Jens Kraus-Masse, Consul General of Germany in Chengdu, Mr. David Joseph Erbacher, Deputy Consul General of Australia in Chengdu, Mr. Adrien Cavey, Deputy Consul General of France in Chengdu, Ms. Bhaviwarn Noraphallop, and Mr. Eric Alexander, Consul of the United States in Chengdu.

  Most of these officials are visiting Tibetan Region of Sichuan for the first time. They begins their journey of 5 days from Kangding, passes Danba, Jinchuan, Maerkang, Hongyuan, Ruoergai and Songpan and so on. After arriving at Kangding Airport, they drives over Zheduo Mountain, a rainy and sunny mountain. They feel relaxed due to the clear sky, stretching mountainside and fresh air. Their first destination is Ganzi Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, where they are wondered by traditional Tibetan houses, pharmacy, and thangkas and so on. Their second destination is beautiful Mugecuo, where they are impressed by the shining lake in the sunshine just like diamond.

  Although this is their first day of visiting, they have deeply shocked by the splendid landscapes and profound Tibetan culture. Mr. Raymond Greene shares the photos in WeChat that he has taken. He indicates that he has long heard the name of Ganzi with sound development. Now he has seen it. He hopes that this visit could be a bridge of friendship to promote mutual cooperation in trade, investment, tourism and so on.

  In the following 4 days, consuls general will also inspect Ancient Residential Towers in Danba, rural construction in Jiaju Tibetan Village, experience the new life of Tibetans, visit residential houses at Maerkang County, and inspect Hongyuan Highland Milk Co., Ltd, and Zhonghuan Share Qixi Photovoltaic Power Station Project and so on.
