On July 28th, Mr. Wei Hong, vice secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, in Chengdu met Delegates of Advisers to Presidents or Primers in Eastern and Central Europe, including Romania, Albania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovakia, and so on.
On behalf of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, Mr. Wei Hong extended sincere welcome to the visit of these delegates and introduced Sichuan’s social and economic development, especially opening up. He mentioned that in recent years, Eastern and Central European Countries had positive development with Sichuan in government exchange and enterprise cooperation. This visit was an significant opportunity for Sichuan and Eastern and Central European Countries to have a better understanding of each other. He hoped that they could exchange and dig greater cooperation potentials in the future. Sichuan would actively support Sichuan enterprises to seek for development in Eastern and Central European Countries and welcome their enterprises to invest in Sichuan. Sichuan actively promoted Eastern and Central European Countries to establish consulate generals or trade representative offices in Sichuan, enhance proper provinces to establish sister provinces with Sichuan and enhance the opening of direct flights.
Romania’s foreign affair adviser to the prime minister indicated that although the visit was short, he was deeply impressed on Sichuan’s long history, culture as well as her important position in China even Asia. There was good momentum of all-round cooperation between Sichuan and Eastern and Central European Countries. They were willing to share their information after they returned and work hard to promote the friendship and win-win cooperation between Sichuan and Eastern and Central European Countries.
Mr. Luo Qiang, secretary general of Sichuan Provincial People's Government, also attended the meeting.
