On the afternoon of April 23rd and 24th, Mr. Wei Hong, vice secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, in Chengdu met some guests attending Well-known Domestic and Overseas Enterprises in Sichuan. He hoped that these entrepreneurs could grasp Sichuan's new developing opportunities with their keen investment vision and outstanding business acumen.
When meeting Mr. Wang Wenyin, chairman of Amer International Group, Mr. Wei Hong extended sincere gratitude towards Amer International Group for their support to social and economical development of Mr. Deng Xiaoping’s hometown. He mentioned that the new material projects invested Amer International Group in Sichuan were undergoing smoothly. He wished that Amer International Group could further continue to invest the following intelligent terminal projects in order to accelerate to create electronic information industry cluster. Moreover, he hoped that both sides could strengthen information communication and work docking and promote win-win cooperation in more fields and deeper levels.
Mr. Wang Wenyin said that the growth of Guang'an Project invested by Amer International Group was unexpected and believed that in the near future there would be more achievements. They planned to organize a batch of electronic information companies, especially intelligent terminal product manufacturing companies to inspect Sichuan and seek for further cooperation opportunities. He looked forward to strengthening cooperation with Sichuan in new fiends such as cultural creation and so on.
When meeting Mr. Philippe Rogge, vice president of Microsoft and Chief Operating Officer in Great China area, Mr. Wei Hong thanked Microsoft for their great help in earthquake relief and post-disaster reconstruction in Wenchuan Earthquake. He mentioned that under the background of implementing “Internet Plus” strategy, there was increasing space for Sichuan and Microsoft to cooperate with each other in fields including the development of industries such as smart city, big data, cloud computing, and personnel training of health information, senior software development and so on. He suggested that both sides should organize special team to carry out deep research and analysis on the cooperation direction and details and work together to promote the settlement of more leading and influential programs in China even the world.
Mr. Philippe Rogge mentioned that it had been 10 years since Microsoft and Sichuan cooperated with each other and he hoped that the cooperation in the future could last for 50 years even a century. Microsoft was willing to promote the current mutual projects to be better with Sichuan. They were more willing to discuss with Sichuan concerning the cooperation in more emerging industries. Microsoft was optimistic about the innovation of Sichuan and believed the infinite potential of cooperation with Sichuan in fields such as air quality monitoring, intelligent transportation, health care information and so on.
When meeting Mr. Ge Honglin, president of Aluminum Corporation of China, Mr. Wei Hong said that Sichuan supported actively the development of Aluminum Corporation of China and its relevant companies in Sichuan as well as the application of products and technology achievements of Aluminum Corporation of China in Sichuan. Meanwhile, he hoped that Aluminum Corporation of China could increase investment in Sichuan combining the features of Sichuan, implement upgrading and transformation of its Sichuan base, and achieve win-win development.
Mr. Ge Honglin said that Aluminum Corporation of China was optimistic about the development future of Sichuan and hoped to implement comprehensive, multi-level and substantial strategic cooperation with Sichuan in energy conservation and environmental friendly materials, components of automobiles and rail transportation, the exploitation, smelting, and deep processing of rare earth mineral resources in order to jointly promote the mutual development and promotion of State-owned Key Enterprises and local economy.
When meeting Mr. Qiao Shibo, general manager of China Resources (Holding) Company Limited, Mr. Wei Hong said that the agreement to deepen strategic cooperation framework signed between China Resources and Sichuan fully embodied the attention of China Resources on Sichuan and its strategic vision as a global excellent enterprise, which meant the continuity of friendly cooperation and the beginning of further deepening cooperation. Sichuan would continue supporting China Resources to develop in Sichuan.
Mr. Qiao Shibo mentioned that in next few years China Resources would strengthen cooperation with Sichuan in 9 key fields, including power, urban comprehensive development, gas, medicine, finance, modern service industries, beer and beverage, medical care, and social public welfare. They were confident with the beautiful prospect in cooperating with Sichuan.
When meeting Mr. Merlin Bingham Swire, CEO of Swire Group, Mr. Wei Hong said that in recent years Sichuan had maintained a good development momentum and was faced with major opportunities such as Tianfu New District as national level district and the construction of new airport in Chengdu. He hoped that Swire Group could pay attention to Sichuan and capture new business opportunities. Currently, Sichuan has entered into the rapid development period of urbanization. He suggested that Swire Group to invest second-tier cities in Sichuan which had promising future and grasp mew growth point.
Mr. Merlin Bingham Swire mentioned that with the great support of government the programs of Swire Group were undergoing smoothly. The opening of Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu had increased their confidence of investing China. They were willing to share the strategic opportunities of Tianfu New District and the construction of new airport and would locate more excellent programs in Sichuan.
Mr. Gan Lin, vice governor of Sichuan, Mr. Tang Liangzhi, major of Chengdu, and responsible persons from relevant provincial and municipal departments, also attended the meeting respectively.
