On May 20th, Mr. Wei Hong, vice secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, in Chengdu met Mr. Jean-Jacques de Dardel, ambassador of Switzerland to China.

　　Mr. Wei Hong extended his sincere welcome to the visit of Mr. Jean-Jacques de Dardel and introduced Sichuan’s economic and social development situation. He mentioned that Sichuan had sound development foundation in fields such as the development and exploitation of clean energy and the construction of low carbon city. There were huge cooperation space for Sichuan to corporate with Switzerland. He hoped to work jointly to promote more cooperation projects. He also advised strengthening exchanges and cooperation in multiple fields such as trade, tourism, education and so on.

　　Ambassador Jean-Jacques de Dardel congratulated the development achievements of Sichuan in recent years. He said that Sichuan occupied an important position in the development map of China. He was quite willing to promote the cooperation with Sichuan in industry, service industry and so on and encourage more Switzerland enterprises to seek for new development opportunities in Western China and Sichuan.
