Updated:2015.05.22

Tents restored at Central Disaster Relief Materials Chengdu Reserve of Ministry of Civil Affairs were freighted by air to the earthquake disaster area of Nepal. On May 19th, journalists learned from Sichuan Provincial Disaster Relief Reserve Center that Sichuan had dispatched urgently 200 cotton tents and 5,165 single tents to Nepal. The dispatching was still urgent but orderly.

After Nepal was stricken by destructive earthquake, on behalf of Chinese government, Ministry of Civil Affairs and Ministry of Commerce have denoted disaster relief materials. Ministry of Civil Affairs decided to dispatch 6,800 single tents, 900 cotton tents and 3,000 pieces of tarpaulins from Sichuan Provincial Disaster Relief Reserve Center. Due to limited air freight forces, Sichuan was dispatching these materials separately.

Central Disaster Relief Materials Chengdu Reserve of Ministry of Civil Affairs is the largest one among 17 central level disaster relief reserves, responsible for restoring disaster relief materials for Sichuan and southwest China.
