On February 11th, 14th Mianzhu New Year Picture Festival opened at Mianzhu Yangrui Square. The festival focused on cultural benefaction to people and tourism development to disclose Mianzhu’s folks and cultural features and make more people to experience the festival.

     14th Mianzhu New Year Picture Festival initiated with 13 cultural arts programs with Mianzhu features and the theme of this festival. All the people concerning the programs, scriptwriters or performers, were from Mianzhu. Reporters also learned that the New Year Picture Festival would last until March 5th, including 22 sub-activities. Besides, no celebrities were invited at all activities. The ordinary people played the leading role. It was also learned that Mianzhu had initiated Happy and Beautiful New Village Cultural Yards in 2013. Currently, 51 cultural yards have been completed. A large number of grassroots excellent cultural programs emerged and would be performed during the New Year Picture Festival.

     New Year Picture Festival would also integrated its theme with the golden week of Spring Festival to design a series of theme activities. Reporters saw at Jiulong Yanshan Rural Tourism Scenic Spot that 1,500 giant panda sculptures introduced from 1st “Giant Panda Cultural Tourism Festival” had been stationed and put on colorful new year coats.

     On the same day, cultural benefaction activities aimed to send couplets, new year pictures and blessings lasting for a month launched officially. Mianzhu Literary Association, Library, New Year Picture Museum and so on organized workers to send new year pictures, couplets and books to citizens at Jiannan Township, Jiulong Township, Qitian Township and so on.
