On January 28th, 2014 Sichuan Tourism Industry TOP 10 Ranking Selection and Releasing Activity, directed by Sichuan Provincial Tourism Bureau and led by Sichuan Daily and Sichuan Social Science Academy, was disclosed officially. 10 tourism destinations including Chengdhu Jinsha Relics and so on are awarded as Top 10 “Worthiest” travel destinations, Chengdu and other 9 cities are rewarded as “the most representative places of Sichuan”, Emei City are listed as “the most relaxing” distinct and county tourism destinations, Jianmen Gate Scenic Spot and so on are awarded as Top 10 “the most popular scenic spots” of Sichuan, Baima Wanglang (Mianyang) and so on are listed as Top 10 “the most expected” tourism projects, and Sichuan Leshan Ebony Cultural Expo Garden Co. Ltd. and so on are listed as Top 10 “the most potential” tourism enterprises.

　 In order to endure a fair, extensive and professional selection, this activity is undergone in combination of recommendation by municipal tourism bureaus, online vote, selections by specialists. During the mid-January, 21 municipal tourism bureaus selected top two the most representative districts, scenic spots, tourism projects, tourism enterprises respectively. Sichuan Tourism Association promoted 20 tourism destinations as “the most expected destinations of South Silk Road.” Online vote lasting for one week attracted the involvements of several hundred thousand people. Experts evaluated from numerous professional perspectives such as tourism revenue, tourism accounting, and the proportion of tourism in tertiary industries, and eventually selected 6 Top 10 lists.
