127 Sichuan Treasures Will Be Exhibited in US

  From October 2014, Mysterious Ancient Shu Culture Exhibition will be held for nearly a year in the United States. Since August 21st, Sichuan Daily launched an activity of introducing the most popular Sichuan treasures. Some superstar cultural heritages, such as the Sun and Immortal Bird gold ornament of Jinsha Museum and bronze mask of Sanxingdui Museum, enjoyed the highest reputation. On September 15th, reporters learned that based on public recommendation, 127 Sichuan treasures had been ensured to exhibited in the United States. Besides, all of these treasures had been delivered and would be freighted by air to the United States.

  127 exhibits are from Sanxingdui Museum and Jinsha Museum, including 7 replicas and 120 cultural relics, among which 24 are of national first-class level. Zhu Yarong, deputy curator of Sanxingdui Museum, introduced that because 7 cultural relics, for instance, the Sun and Immortal Bird gold ornament, bronze standing human statue, bronze mask with hat, and gold scepter, and so on, have been enlisted on the National Restricted Outbound Cultural Relics List, only their replicas could be exhibited. Mysterious Ancient Shu Culture Exhibition has been held in China and become a major cultural brand of Sichuan. The exhibition in the United States is an answer to the invitation of California Bowers Museum in 2011. The exhibition tour includes the display in Bowers Museum from October 2014 to March 2015 and the exhibition in Houston Museum of Natural Science from April 2015 to September 2015.
