On September 2nd, Mr. Zhong Mian, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, vice governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, in Sichuan Provincial People's Government met Mr. Song Xidou, vice governor of South Chungcheong Province, South Korea.

　　Mr. Zhong Mian extended his warmest welcome to Mr. Song Xidou and expressed sincere gratitude South Chungcheong Province for their support and cooperation on behalf of Mr. Wei Hong, governor of Sichuan Province, when he visited South Korea. Mr. Zhong Mian introduced briefly Sichuan’s development condition and opening up situation. He said that although Sichuan was located inland, Sichuan had attached much importance on exchanges and cooperation. In 2013, the foreign trade volume amounted to over 60 billion US dollars, ranking 11th in China. More than 200 Fortune 500 companies had settled in Sichuan. Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, allows transit passengers 72-hour stays of visa-free. Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport has opened more than 60 international air routes. There were more than 2 million overseas visitors traveling in Sichuan in 2013. Besides, Mr. Zhong Mian also mentioned the friendship between Sichuan and South Chungcheong. The mutual friendship started from a special period when Sichuan suffered from Wenchuan Massive Earthquake in 2008. South Chungcheong Government and people had expressed their sympathy and offered assistance and headed for Sichuan to establish friendship with us in September, 2009. South Chungcheong has been famous for social and ecological development, and enjoyed advantages in fields such as automobile manufacturing, steel, monitors, petrochemical industry and so on. Sichuan and South Chungcheong have great potential for cooperation because it is complementary between their industries. Mr. Zhong Mian indicated that Mr. Wei Hong's visit to South Korea in July and Mr. Song Xidou's visit to Sichuan would promote mutual cooperation to a higher level and more pragmatic in trade, tourism, education, culture, etc.

　　Mr. Song Xidou thanked for the meeting of Mr. Zhong Mian. He said that China and South Korea were friendly neighbors and the development of South Korea needed China. South Chungcheong values the friendship with Sichuan. This was his first visit to Sichuan and Sichuan has left a marvelous and deep impression on him. There are numerous large enterprises and ancillary companies in South Chungcheong. Sichuan will be their important partnership for cooperation. Mr. Song Xidou indicated that South Chungcheong Government would introduce Sichuan to industries in South Chungcheong and all sectors of South Korea in order to enhance the development of mutual friendship and cooperation between Sichuan and South Chungcheong as well as between China and South Korea.

　　Relevant officials from Department of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs of Sichuan Provincial People's Government, Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, and Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Tourism also attended the meeting.
