On August 3rd, pepper growers from Zhongling Township, Xichong County, were selecting a special kind of pepper, Erjingtiao.

　　Currently, 18 townships in Xichong County, including Zhongling Township, Fengming Township, Hongqiao Township and so on, have been constructed into Erjingtiao Pepper Production Base as large as 46,000 mu with 42,000 households to plant peppers. The annual output of fresh peppers has amounted to 75,000 tons. There are 38 pepper special cooperation organizations, 12 pepper processing companies with annual tax of more than 13 million Yuan. Those peppers are exported to Russia, Japan, South Korea and so on, with annual export dried pepper of 13,000 tons. Pepper industry has been an important industry to increase farmers' income and improve companies’ efficiency.
