On August 8th, Gaoxing-Nanchong Section of Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway was in service, linking with Dazhou-Chengdu Railway and Xiangyang-Chongqing Railway. Besides, Gaoxing-Nanchong Section also made it possible for Guang'an to have bullet trains. D5174 Bullet Train also began its maiden trip from Chengdu to Guang'an on the same day.

　　Gaoxing-Nanchong Section of Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway starts from Nanchong East Railway Station of Dazhou -Chengdu Railway, down to south passes Yuechi County and Guang'an City, and ends Gaoxing Station of Xiangyang-Chongqing Railway. The whole section is 88.7 km in total with the design speed of 160 km per hour. This is a mixed line for both passenger trains and cargo trains, belonging to single line electronic grade I railway. After bullet trains are in service, it only takes 2.5 hours from Chengdu to Guang'an, while it takes about 5 hours by expressway from Chengdu to Guang'an.

　　In the beginning of this section in service, there are 2 group bullet trains from Chengdu (East Station) to Guang'an (South Station). The departure time from Chengdu is 8:20 a.m. and 13：40 p.m. and from Guang'an is 11:09 a.m. and 16:14 p.m.

　　The service of this section helps to form a railway ring line linking Chengdu, Chongqing, Nanchong, Guang'an. This section is of great significance for it will obviously reduce the traveling time within these cities, accelerate the trade and logistics development of its passing areas, and stimulate the tourism advantages of old revolutionary areas.
