From July 27th to 28th at local time, Mr. Wei Hong, vice secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, visited Gangwon-do and Seoul, met local chief executives and senior officials respectively, and signed a number of cooperation memorandums. All concerning parties considered that this visit would paly a positive role in enhancing friendly relationship and cooperation between Sichuan and provinces in South Korea in more fields.

　　During his visit in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province on July 27th, Mr. Wei Hong met Mr. Choi Moonsoon, governor of Gangwon Province. They signed a momentum Strengthening friendly cooperation. Two provinces would further enhance exchanges and cooperation in tourism, trade, investment, education, culture, sports and so on.

　　On the morning of July 28th, Mr. Wei Hong met Mr. Yoon Sang-jick, minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea. Mr. Wei Hong introduced the current situation of Sichuan’s economic development and crucial opportunities faced. He hoped that Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea could promote more enterprises in South Korea to invest in Sichuan and seek development. Sichuan would create excellent development environment. Mr. Yoon Sang-jick indicated that they would like to establish new cooperation channel with Sichuan to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Sichuan in economic and trade. Both parties also reached consensus on signing cooperation framework agreement, laying a firm foundation for deepening cooperation.

　　On the morning of July 28th, Mr. Wei Hong met Mr. Park Won-soon, major of Seoul. They reached consensus on enlarging cooperation fields, strengthening and expanding mutual cooperation between governments, and increasing social and cultural exchanges, formed specific opinions on promoting cooperation in culture, tourism, environmental protection, and so on, and together witnessed the signing of cooperation momentum between Department of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs, Sichuan Provincial People's Government, and Seoul International Business Exchange Group. Mr. Park Won-soon held the ceremony of granting Mr. Wei Hong as “Seoul Honorary Citizenship”. In his appreciation speech, Mr. Wei Hong said that the title represented the deep friendship between Seoul and Sichuan, including government and people. He believed that in the near future, mutual friendly relationship and cooperation in more fields would reach a new height.

　　During his visit in South Korea, Mr. Wei Hong also met Mr. Lee Sei-kee, president of Korea-China Friendship Association, and attended the welcome ceremony held by the association. Mr. Wei Hong introduced Sichuan’s economic and social development and exchanges and cooperation situation with South Korea. He sincerely wished that Korea-China Friendship Association would pay attention to and support mutual exchanges between Sichuan and South Korea. Both parties witnessed the signing of cooperation momentum between Department of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs, Sichuan Provincial People's Government, and Korea-China Friendship Association.
