On the afternoon of July 24th at local time, 30th Anniversary of Celebrating Hiroshima Prefecture and Sichuan Province Establishing Sister Relationship was held in Hiroshima City, Japan. Mr. Wei Hong, vice secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, Mr. Hidehiko Yuzaki, governor of Hiroshima Prefecture, Mr. Lin Zhengfu, chairman of chancellor of Hiroshima Prefecture, attended the ceremony.

　　In his speech, Mr. Wei Hong said that 30 years ago, with the joint efforts of older generation from China and Japan, Sichuan Province and Hiroshima Prefecture sowed the seeds of friendship, making Sichuan becoming Hiroshima Prefecture’s first Asian sister city. After 30 years of careful fostering and nurturing, the friendship of Sichuan Province and Hiroshima Prefecture had blossomed and yielded fruits. There were mutual and sound cooperation in culture, education, health, hygiene, trade, investment, environmental protection, tourism and so on. Especially when encountered with natural disasters, Sichuan Province and Hiroshima Prefecture had supported each other sincerely, reflecting true friendship. On behalf of Sichuan Province, Mr. Wei Hong extended his sincere gratitude towards Hiroshima Prefecture for precious assistance when Sichuan was hit by Weichuan Earthquake and Lushan Earthquake and expressed his best wishes to the community of Hiroshima Prefecture devoting to developing mutual friendly relationship.

　　Mr. Wei Hong also said that it was commented by Confucius, a Chinese thinker in the Spring and Autumn Period, that when one entered 30, he or she should be well established. Similarly, the sister relationship between Sichuan Province and Hiroshima Prefecture was also well established. We should deepen our friendship and enhance mutual cooperation by taking advantage of 30th anniversary. We came here because of deep friendship between people in Sichuan Province and Hiroshima Prefecture, and also because of further developing mutual friendship. We would like to promote our mutual cooperation into wider fields and deeper level with you. He also suggested that there should be more exchange activities with various types and distinctive features in order to enhance more pragmatic cooperation in fields such as trade, manufacturing, education, and environmental protection and so on. He sincerely wished that our mutual friendship would be lasting and evergreen just like mountains in Sichuan and the friendship flower between Chinese and Japanese would bloom forever.

　　Mr. Hidehiko Yuzaki expressed his warm welcome to Sichuan delegation headed by Mr. Wei Hong for attending 30th Anniversary of Celebrating Hiroshima Prefecture and Sichuan Province Establishing Sister Relationship. He said that there had been close civil contacts between Sichuan Province and Hiroshima Prefecture in previous 30 years. Besides, exchanges and cooperation in all fields were deepened continuously, people’s friendship had been increased day by day and the achievements of cooperation had been accumulated. He welcomed more Sichuan people to travel and invest in Hiroshima. He hoped that in the future there would be exchange activities of various types and rich contents so as to make mutual friendship last for centuries.

　　Mr. Lin Zhengfu, chairman of chancellor of Hiroshima Prefecture, also delivered a speech. Mr. Liu Yiren, consul general of the People's Republic of China in Osaka, Mr. Lv Kejian, the economic commerce minister in Japan, members of Sichuan Province Delegate and all walks of life from Hiroshima, a total of over 300 people, attended the ceremony.

　　Mr. Wei Hong also attended the welcome ceremony held by Japan-China Friendship Association of Hiroshima Prefecture. Mr. Wei Hong also met Mr. Lin Zhengfu, chairman of chancellor of Hiroshima Prefecture.
