On the morning of July 21st at local time, Mr. Wei Hong, vice secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, visited Mr. Lee Hisen Loong, prime minister of Singapore in Singapore.

　　Mr. Wei Hong said that Singapore had sound economic system and advanced management experience. Singapore’s creativity and development miracle were admirable. Sichuan was among the first batch of Chinese inland provinces building bilateral cooperation mechanism with Singapore. Since Singapore-Sichuan Trade and Investment Committee was established in 1996, Sichuan and Singapore had achieved remarkable results in trade, investment, logistics, tourism, airlines, finances and so on. Under the joint promotion of governments and enterprises, the construction and investment of Singapore-Sichuan Hi-tech Innovation Park were progressing smoothly, signifying that our mutual cooperation had stepped into a new stage. Based on sound cooperation, we sincerely hoped that with the support of your honored prime minister, with the advantage of mutual future cooperation, we could deepen our comprehensive cooperation. Especially on the basis of Singapore-Sichuan Hi-tech Innovation Park program, we could jointly create hi-end industrial agglomerations, innovation-driven demonstration zones and urban governance model areas influencing China western areas and fitting into global development. Besides, it would play a leading role in the development of China western areas and provide broad development space for Singapore enterprises, enhancing mutual benefit and win-win cooperation between Sichuan and Singapore into a new height.

　　Mr. Lee Hisen Loong said that there was a sound foundation and condition of cooperation between Sichuan and Singapore. We were optimistic about the development of Sichuan and the whole China western area. We would live to have more closer contacts with Sichuan. Singapore fully understood Sichuan’s deepening cooperation idea and would organize open discussion and argumentation to ensure a clear view of cooperation so as to achieve long-term and cooperation worthy added value. Particularly referring to the experience of jointly constructing China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park and Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city, we should give full play to the advantages of Singapore and promote Sichuan's economic development with mutual cooperation so that Singapore could paly a helpful role in Sichuan’s development and Great Western China Development Strategy.

　　On July 21st, Mr. Wei Hong also met Mr. Lee Yi Shyan, senior minister of state in the ministries of Trade and Industry and National Development, Mr. Lawrence Wong, minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and 2nd minister of Communication and Information, chairman of Singapore-Sichuan Trade and Investment Committee of Singapore side, and Mr. Lim Swee Say, minister of the Prime Minister’s Office of Singapore, secretary-general of the National Trades Union Congress, and consultant of Singapore-Sichuan Trade and Investment Committee. They held in-depth talks on deepening cooperation between Sichuan and Singapore.
