Migration Black-necked Cranes Returned to Hongyuan Prairie
Updated:2014.04.09
On April 7, as it was getting warmer and warmer, more than 40 migration black-necked cranes had returned to Hongyuan Prairie. In the streams and moors, flocks of yellow ducks (scientific name: tadorna ferruginea), green-headed ducks and black-necked cranes were playing with water and feeding themselves. Sometimes they sang and sometimes they danced. Because there were a series of snow in the early spring in 2014 and the temperature was quite low, the first batch of migration black-necked cranes were fewer than those of last year. Besides, they returned scatteringly. According to the estimation of local forestry department and bird lovers association, as the temperature rises, the number of migration black-necked cranes will increase.
