| Ya’an-Kangding Expressway Started Construction |

| On April 20, Ya’an-Kangding Expressway was started to construct. Ya’an-Kangding Expressway, linking with Tibetan area, is not only the first expressway under construction after Lushan Earthquake, but also the end of the situation of zero expressway in Ganzi. By the end of 2017, Ya’an-Kangding Expressway will be finished and opened. At that time, the journey by car from Chengdu to Kangding will be shortened to 3 hours from present 6 hours. Actually, from design, project approval, to full start, it has attracted quite a lot attention because of danger. On an exclusive interview, the chief engineer from the Ministry of Transport indicated that the difficulties encountered in the design and construction of Ya’an-Kangding Expressway was the collection of difficulties in Chinese expressway construction history of previous 30 years. Therefore, Ya’an-Kangding Expressway is also called the most difficult expressway in China. |
