On December 16th, the 4th Factory of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company Ltd (Shenlong Automobile Company) was established in Longquan District, Chengdu, officially initiating the prelude of constructing a company with millions of automobiles. By then, Chengdu has attracted numerous finished automobile projects settled here, including FAW-Volkswagen, FAW-Toyota, Geely-Volvo and so on, making Chengdu an important part in the domestic finished automobile industry.

　　Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company Ltd is a model of Sino-French cooperation as well as a backbone enterprise in Chinese automobile industry. On April 8th, 2014, Sichuan Provincial People's Government and Dongfeng Company signed strategic cooperation agreement in Chengdu, and determined to promote vigorously Shenlong Company to settle in Chengdu in the future. On July 2nd, Chengdu Municipal Government, Dongfeng Automobile Company and Shenlong Automobile Company signed cooperation agreement, the 4th Factory investment agreement, ensured to establish branch company in Chengdu and invested on the 4th Factory.

　　The 4th Factory of Shenlong Automobile Company is located at China-France Chengdu Ecological Park and will be built in accordance with principles of one planning, construction in different phases, privilege on investment of vehicle type, and rolling development. The total planning investment amounts to 12.3 billion yuan. The overall designed capacity is 360,000 vehicles per year. It is estimated that the factory will be finished by the end of 2016 with the main vehicle types of Dongfeng Citroen, Dongfeng Peugeot and Dongfeng, concentrating on high-end SUV and MPV. The vehicle type will be developed and produced synchronously with Europe. Meanwhile, this factory will also plan to produce new energy vehicles synchronously. The 4th Factory of Shenlong Automobile Company will integrate advanced technology and mature experience of other three factories as well as advanced technology standards and comprehensive performance target system of Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company Ltd, introduce and use the latest technology achievements in automobile manufacturing industry in the world, and build stamping, welding, painting and assembling workshops and so on, as well as supporting facilities such as logistics, public power, new car parking lot and so on. It will be constructed into Global New Generation Green Model Factory.
