Sichuan Tourism Chorus with Multi-Point and Multi-Polar

  Recently, Huangjing Three Hundred Miles, a large-scale real landscape act of Gulin County, Luzhou, conducted its premiere successfully. Gulin, a county lies in the south of Sichuan Province, has rich tourism resources but without high popularity. Taking advantage of the overall development of Sichuan tourism, Gulin launches unique tourism products to activate its regional tourism developing momentum.

  Earlier, on the 3rd Plenary Session of the 10th CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee which ended in May, Sichuan was planned to implement comprehensively three developing strategies and strive to promote two leaps. In an era with abundant new historical opportunities, people in the whole Sichuan tourism industry are considering how to achieve multi-point and multi-polar development and how to boost the development of tourism.

  4 echelons

  Boost multi-point and new development

  To form a dynamic and good competitive pattern, we must support the leading role of development of Chengdu, offer guidance to accelerate the development speed of prefectures and cities with rich tourism resources, boost the leapfrog development of ethnic minority areas, poverty-stricken areas and old revolutionary base areas. By the end of 2015, the total provincial tourism revenue will amount to 600 billion yuan, making Sichuan tourism industry the most impressive in the whole country.

  As the leading city, Chengdu, a tourism city with tourism revenue of over a hundred billion yuan, is aimed to exceed 200 billion yuan by the end of 2015, accounting for 30% of the Sichuan’s total tourism revenue. Chengdu also will lead pan-Chengdu areas to become an international leisure tourism destination with urban and rural developing together, industrial in-depth integration and great charming, and further lead and support Sichuan’s faster step to become a strong tourism province.

  Accelerate the development of secondary cities. Leshan, Mianyang, Aba, Yibin, Nanchong will become the secondary echelon in 3 years to promote the development of Mount Emei Scenic Spot, Jiuzhaigou International Scenic Spot and economic zone in the north, south of Sichuan and Sichuan-Chongiqng, playing an important role in highlighting the secondary breakthrough.

  As third echelon cities, Liangshan, Suining, Zigong, Luzhou, Guangyuan, Ziyang, Meishan, Guang’an, Ya’an, Deyang, Panzhihua will strive to be the indispensable backbone of Sichuan tourism industry.

  While the last echelon cities, Neijiang, Bazhong, Dazhou, Ganz, are supported by the tourism departments to further consolidate the basis of tourism industry, accelerate constructing tourism infrastructure and service facilities and expand tourism industry.

  “1355” strategic layout

  To build a new pattern of multi-polar development

  For Sichuan, a province with vast coverage, three developing strategy, that is, multi-point, multi-polar, multi-support, will solve not only unbalanced development, but also underdevelopment. But how will tourism industry form such a new pattern?

  Highlight 1 tourism economic growth pole, Chengdu and its surrounding areas. Expand 3 tourism economic zones, Chengdu-Mianyang-Leshan, Chengdu-Chongqing, and Chengdu-Ya’an-Panzhihua. Boost 5 featured tourism economic areas, Jiuzhaigou, Gongga Mountain, Yading Shangri-La, South Sichuan, Qinling-Bashan area. Build 5 tourism lines, Jiuzhaigou Line, Giant Panda Line, Yangtze River Line, Shangri-La Line, and Three Kingdom Line.

  For the travel agencies, “1355” strategic layout strengthens regional tourism resource integration and outstand publicity effect, which will be the key to the best-selling of Sichuan tourism products.

  4 echelons are just like the high, medium and low voices in a chorus, with its own features and blending together, boosting the construction Sichuan into a major tourism economy province and a destination for worldwide tourists.
